What is HardwoodLA?

Is the flooring price per square foot or per box?

Flooring is sold by the full box. Use the box price and the exact product's box coverage to compare costs: price per square foot equals box price divided by square feet per box. Coverage varies by product; do not use one collection's coverage for another. Freight and applicable taxes are separate from the material comparison.

How many boxes do I need?

Ask your installer to confirm the measured area and the allowance for cuts, pattern and site conditions. Divide that total by the selected product's box coverage and round up to a whole box. For example, 1,000 sq. ft. including the installer-approved allowance divided by 34.42 sq. ft. per box requires 30 boxes, covering 1,032.6 sq. ft. This example applies only to products with that stated coverage.

Can I see flooring samples before ordering?

Yes, subject to availability. Request samples and include the product names, your project ZIP code and approximate square footage. Sample sizes, costs and shipping depend on the selection. For qualifying projects within approximately 100 miles of Los Angeles, ask about an in-home or on-site presentation by appointment.

Does HardwoodLA have a showroom?

HardwoodLA is an online flooring store. Our address at 1050 W Alameda Ave, #511, Burbank, CA 91506 is a mailing address only, not a showroom or walk-in location. Sample presentations must be arranged in advance.

What is the difference between Character and Select grade?

Character grade generally shows more knots and natural variation; Select generally offers a cleaner appearance. Grade names and permitted variation depend on the manufacturer and collection. Compare the actual product specifications and samples. Read the grade comparison.

How do herringbone and chevron differ?

Herringbone uses rectangular pieces arranged in a staggered zigzag. Chevron uses angled ends that meet to form a V. They require different material and layout planning. Compare herringbone and chevron before confirming your order with your installer.

What does Baltic birch core mean?

Can engineered hardwood go over concrete or radiant heat?

Approval depends on the exact flooring, installation method and site conditions. Ask the installer to follow the manufacturer's moisture testing, adhesive or underlayment, and radiant-heat requirements. Do not assume that approval for one product applies to every collection. What should I send for a project quote?

Send the product or color, available grade, approximate square footage, delivery ZIP code and preferred timeline. Freight, availability and timing are confirmed for the specific order. Request a project quote.

What if flooring arrives damaged?
