Plan the installation before the material arrives
Engineered hardwood can be installed using different methods depending on the product, subfloor and site conditions. Common methods include glue-down, nail/staple-down and floating installation.
Before installation
- Confirm the approved installation method for your exact product.
- Inspect the subfloor for flatness, moisture and structural suitability.
- Follow product-specific acclimation requirements.
- Mix boards from multiple cartons during installation to distribute natural color and grain variation.
- Keep required expansion space and follow the manufacturer's adhesive or fastener requirements.
Installation conditions vary. Always follow the product manufacturer's installation instructions and applicable building requirements.
